Schilthorn mountain station: extension skier ramp and lift tower

It was time for some change at the Schilthorn mountain station built in 1968. So in 2015/2016 a skier ramp and a lift tower were added. Not an easy task at this altitude, the topographical conditions and the ground conditions. The Top12 stainless reinforcing steel permanently protects the 18 m long anchors of the ski lift ramp and lift tower at the Schilthorn from corrosion in the rock and permafrost. And since 18 m would have been a bit too long to be transported up by train or helicopter, 3 m measuring parts were put together piece by piece and the whole thing was installed. Thanks to the Top12, special corrosion protection of the transitions was not necessary. A much lower effort compared to conventional steel elements, which would have been 50 % heavier.

Passstrasse Viamala: Permanenter ungespannter Anker

The 360-year-old mule track in the canton of Graubünden from Thusis to Chiavenna, which winds its way through the Viamala Gorge, is now an important cultural trail and is classified as a historic route of national importance in the "Inventory of Historic Traffic Routes in Switzerland" (IVS). However, the erosion of the rock, which has been solid for thousands of years, does not stop here either, and the Viamala Pass road had to be anchored back in order to ensure road safety and the continued availability of the roadway. Top12 was used as a permanent, untensioned anchor with Ø 36 and Ø 43 mm of protection level 2b.

Stützmauer Reussthal: Permanenter ungespannter Anker

The expansion of the K13 cantonal road for the benefit of public transport and non-motorized traffic at the connection to the Seetalplatz Luzern required the construction of the Reussthal retaining wall. It is an anchor wall around 340 m long and up to 23 m high. The Reussthal retaining wall is designed as an anchor wall with permanent prestressed and unstressed anchors. Top12 was used as a permanent untensioned anchor Ø 36 mm of protection level 2b.

Galerie Mülitobel: Permanenter ungespannter Anker

The Mülitobel gallery is one of several galleries around Vals, a small municipality in the Surselva region in the canton of Graubünden. The new construction of this additional protective gallery made of reinforced concrete in very steep and impassable terrain with massive impacts from avalanches and rockfall required increased dimensioning of the gallery during planning. Here, the solution was found in Top12 as a permanent, untensioned anchor of protection level 2b.

Project: Mülitobel Gallery (Lunschania, Vals GR)
Application: Permanent untensioned anchor Ø 28 mm of protection level 2b
Product: Top12
